Effect of Cytokinin and Its Concentration on the Shoot Formation of Haemanthus multiflorus
MetadataShow full item record
The objective of this research was to study the appropriate kinds and concentrations of cytokinins to induce the shoot formation in Haemanthus multiflorus with tissue culture technique. This experiment is the experimental research using 3x3 factorial experiment in a randomized complete design with 20 replications. There were two factors in the study, which were 1) BA with concentration of 1, 2 and 4 mg/L and 2) Kinetin with concentration of 1, 2 and 4 mg/L. The survival rate and the growth data were collected, and analysis of variance was performed. The experiment was performed from August to October 2014. It was found that 1) the survival rate was 60 – 100% in every treatment and 2) there was significant difference in shoot height and fresh weight in each treatment, but the best result was observed when the combination of 1 mg/L of BA and 2 mg/L of Kinetin was used.
